AI Models Prefer Some Faiths

AI MODELS PREFER SOME FAITHS. Although no AI model was created with a spirit, different AI models have different spiritual biases. Humans tend to see ethical questions through their religion. But AI models mostly ignore the role of religion. Unless of course they’re programmed to favor some religions over others. Researchers from Catholic, Baptist, Jewish and Mormon universities found Anthropic’s Claude to be the least biased.

Grok strongly favored Catholics and Protestants, and registered strong negatives against Jehovah’s Witnesses, Hindus and Baha’i. But the study found “Agnostic (70%), Baha’i (63%) and Catholic (61%) were identified as the top three faith positions endorsed by the [fourteen] AI models. Jehovah’s Witnesses (3.1%) were overwhelmingly the least AI-endorsed faith position, followed by Sunni Muslims (32%) and Evangelical Protestants (33%).”

Personally, I often ask ChatGPT to give me the positions of evangelical scholars on biblical issues, and it does so in logical ways consistent with evangelical beliefs. But it cannot know the God from whom they spring, or search issues like He searches them. Only the Holy Spirit of God “searches all things, even the deep things of God” (1 Cor. 2:10). No artificial intelligence can come close to Him. But He can steer AI where He wills. Let’s keep praying that He does so in ways that works the evils planned by many AI manipulators to good.

Father God, we exalt You as Creator with the ultimate intelligence. And we thank You for giving each of us a body, soul and spirit. For You want to sanctify us body, soul and spirit. And to fill us with Your love, intelligence, righteousness, authority and power. Yet increasingly we are looking to AI for what You freely give us by Your Spirit who searches all things.

Now some are looking to AI for a faith it doesn’t have and a God it doesn’t know. So we ask You to step in the way and show Jesus is the way to abundant life. And if we seek Him first He will add all these things to us. But if we follow other ways, they will lead us astray to false gods. Therefore, help us learn how to make AI serve us and serve You. And steer all AI usage to accomplish Your good will, And to thwart the will of the enemy to overwhelm, manipulate or control any of us. For Yours in the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
