SIGNAL CHATS SIGNAL NEWARK RIOTS. On June 3, at 11:30 am, an Instagram post read, “Curfew over. Back to Delaney.” ICE houses a detention facility at Newark’s Delaney Hall. The post’s promoters included Marxist, Democrat & anti-Israel groups like Palestine Solidarity Working Group.
Then within minutes, this call to action circulated through secret groups on Signal. And hundreds of anti-ICE activists organized transportation, supplies and logistics. Including pepper-spray protection, goggles, respirators, hard hats, masks and knee pads. But not for a contact sport. Instead, they prepared for what we might call a contact riot.
Sound spontaneous? No, a network of about 100 well-funded organizations like ACLU have planned anti-ICE clashes for years. Together they have annual revenues of about $825 million to draw from. Roughly equal to Newark’s entire annual budget. The IRS classes about 70 of these groups as non-profit charities receiving tax-deductible donations. But such charities don’t have permission to violate laws or others’ rights or to instigate violence.
Chuck Flint, a former US Senate chief of staff and now non-profit expert, calls them the Delaney Hall 100. “They act like military battalions with the ability to overwhelm a city’s public safety resources.” For example, one video showed dozens forcing their way past police lines to disrupt passing traffic. https://www.foxnews.com/video/6397895561112

Within 3 hours after the 11:30 am Signal call to action, users were sharing videos of the anti-ICE clash. They shared info on carpools, food, parking, tents, and more pepper-spray and tear gas protectants. Within days, congressional delegations sought access and the network conducted protests all around NJ.
The NJ attorney general filed suit against ICE for poor conditions at the immigrant detention center. But a DHS inspection found the center in compliance with 17 out of 22 standards. The five standards they missed included:
- ice build-up in the food service freezers
- lack of fingerprinting of detainees before release
- failure to properly record checks on custodial info and hold rooms
- deficiency in properly labeling cleaning equipment
- deficiency in monitoring detainees for suicide and self-harm prevention
What? So a hundred groups are mobilizing from all over the US to protest conditions like these? And spending millions to do so? How many US citizens get free food and monitoring to prevent suicide and self-harm? Instead, why not more monitoring to prevent harm by illegals and paid agitators?
Rather than defund the police and ICE, why not probe into the funding of “charities” hostile to the law?

Father God, we thank You that You have given Jesus all authority in heaven and on earth. Because You so loved the world You gave Him sovereign rule for our good. And You gave us the law to point out sin and trespasses that harm our neighbors. Jesus died that You might forgive. But You have established authorities for those who don’t repent.
So protect these authorities and give them power to overcome attacks against the law. Bring conviction on those who don’t know what they do when they attack them. For they take pride in their quick mobility and their false morality. So humble the proud, disarm them and direct them into ways of finding You. Direct the migrant trespassers too, in Your narrow way to life. And for those who want to migrate to a better place, help them find You first, and make the most of where You put them.
