God Moves, Demons Flee—Don’t Divide Over How It Happens

God Moves, Demons Flee

GOD MOVES, DEMONS FLEE. Whenever God moves, we can expect that demons will become manifest and flee. So the wave of deliverances at the movie premiere of “Come Out in Jesus’ Name” should not surprise us. In fact, I have heard reports of deliverance in the otherwise solemn assemblies at Asbury.

Where Jesus showed up, so did demons—in terror. He gave us His authority to cast them out too—“to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”

Satan and his demons may tempt believers (Mt. 6:12), afflict and hinder believers (Lk. 13:16; 1 Th. 2:18). They may even torment believers, as Paul experienced (2 Cor. 12:7). But they cannot harm (lit. “damage”) believers. Because God works all things to the good for those who love Him (Rom. 8:28; Gen. 50:20).

Since His Holy Spirit inhabits us, demons can’t. But they can inhabit unbelievers. So let us use our authority to cast them out when unbelievers want to get free of them.

Deliverance from demonic doctrines

Governments, schools and media keep pushing demonic doctrines on all kinds of people. Especially children. As a result, we can expect an increase in demonic activity and need for deliverance. But many of the same governments, schools and media forbid us to set these people free.

Court rulings have outlawed conversion therapy for those who want freedom from LGBT desires. Demon-infested drag queens force themselves on kids aged 2 and up with official approval. And propagandists instill the spirit of racism into schoolkids by calling them racist from birth. Demonic doctrines abound. So we should expect that demons will too.

Churches may have different understandings of just how demons operate. But let’s not allow that to divide us. That’s what Satan wants us to do. Instead, let’s agree that we can “overcome all the power of the enemy” in Jesus’ name. And then do that wherever we go, by faith, in this increasingly demonized world. Never forget that He told us, “I have overcome the world” (Jn. 16:33).
