Hamas Double-Talk—Disarmament Means Rearmament

DOUBLE TALK. Finally, the Peace Board has begun to say openly the word “disarmament” for Gaza. As I’ve said for many months, we must make disarmament the first step in ending the Gazan war. In the meantime, Israel says Hamas is rebuilding and not disarming its military.

So Israel will not withdraw until Hamas does disarm, says Doran Spielman, PM Netanyahu’s spokesman. Or else Hamas will “rebuild its terrorist infrastructure…and seek to carry out another Oct. 7-style attack.” For Hamas has never renounced that intention—to do as much genocide against Jews as it can.

Trump’s 20-point ceasefire plan still waits for disarmament as the turning point for Gaza. Now Hamas has agreed that the Hamas-run police will hand over its weapons to a technocrat committee. But only as soon as that committee arrives.

What’s holding up the committee? Fear that Hamas might fire the weapons at them instead of hand the weapons over? International forces have committed to deployment in Gaza, but they haven’t arrived either. So are they silently admitting that Hamas remains in charge, rearming instead of disarming?

The Israeli-held part of Gaza lies in ruins, mostly depopulated. The Hamas-held part also lies in ruins, populated by people living in makeshift tents. Meanwhile, the US focuses on destroying the military means in Iran, which supplies Hamas. The weaker Iran, the weaker Hamas becomes. But both weak forces keep saying they’re strong. At what point does the US so weaken them that they really give up their arms? Till then, who can blame Israel for hanging in there till it weakens Hamas’ military to that very point?

PRAY WITH US about double talk: Father God, we exalt You as King of kings and Lord of lords. For You make wars to cease to the ends of the earth. So we thank You more than anyone for the multiple peace deals that Trump has enacted around the world. But Hamas remains stubbornly opposed to You and Your chosen people.

They call good evil and evil good. They call Jewish genocide God’s will and Israel the little Satan as does Iran. And they call rearmament disarmament. So we thank You for weakening them and their sponsor Iran by allowing strikes at their strongholds. They move innocents in harm’s way and accuse Israel of the very genocide they themselves commit. So complete Your work of disarming Hamas and Iran’s military since they refuse to do so. And protect their people from their deluded leadership until Your raise up the right leaders to replace them. In Jesus’ name, amen.
