WINNING COLD WAR. If MAGA means only to make America great, why does Trump want to make other nations great too? Specifically, why does he want to help make Venezuela, Greenland, Ukraine, Iran, Gaza and Panama great? Doesn’t that spread American capacities so thin that America loses its own greatness?
But the problem is, making American great by itself means making other nations jealous of its greatness. World powers like China and Russia want to make us less great because they want to be the greatest. So they formed BRICS with the Asian India, African South Africa, and South American Brazil. They sought to make BRICS a growing bloc of nations to compete with US influence and currency.
Among them, only China has the wealth and power to compete with the US. China sees US influence over its own neighbors Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. It wants to repel that influence and gain more influence over the US’ neighbors. Especially Panama and its canal, Venezuela and the rest of Central and South America. But also Greenland.

China knows the US has prepared to defend Taiwan in case China invades it. So China and its ally Russia want access to attack the US from the north by flying over Greenland. They want access to attack the US from the south through their influence over Venezuela and Cuba. And China wants to use its holdings on the Panama Canal to choke US ships in case the cold war gets hot.
But could China make Greenland, Venezuela, Panama or any other nations in this hemisphere great? No, China would make them vassals dependent on Chinese communist tyranny, like it did to Hong Kong. So how would Trump’s art of the deal make those nations great with a win-win strategy instead?
By strengthening their economies and their defenses against heavily nuclear-armed China and Russia. If China and Russia gain military access to those nations, we’d see the Cuban missile crisis all over again. Except that it could last many years instead of 13 days. And it could turn Cold War II into the hottest war ever.
Such a war would make no one great. Instead, it would make great powers MAD with Mutually Assured Destruction. That would leave the rest of the world weak and crippled because it depends so much on great powers. So we must depend on the greatest Power of all, who “makes wars to cease to the end of the earth” (Ps. 46:9). Only He knows how to make us great eternally, so no weapon formed against us can prosper (Isa. 54:17).
PRAY WITH US about winning cold war:
Father God, we declare our dependence on You more than any other power in heaven or on earth. For You see nations rise against nation in war. But You also make wars to cease to the end of the earth. Certainly, many see Greenland and Panama as ends of the earth. And many see Venezuela as a central point and pivot point in a future war between China and the US. Instead, let the growing underground church in China overcome and change the regime in China peacefully.
We thank for Your plans to prosper us and provide peace in other nations too. We ask that You make those plans especially manifest in the hot spots of Venezuela and Panama and even Venezuela. That You would remake those nations in Your image instead of in the image of either the US or China. In those nations’ present negotiations with the US, guide them toward mutually beneficial trade and relations. And away from the “mutually assured destruction” that many fear will occur if China and/or Russia gain military bases there. Promote and protect their rights to freedom of expression, religion and self-determination. So that they may freely encounter and choose You, and then learn to disciple their nations. In Your image, and in Jesus’ name, amen.
