TERRORISTS CROSSING US BORDER. In the FY 2023 the Customs & Border Protection (CBP) has encountered 154 “watchlist” terrorists. That amounts to more encounters than the last six years combined. Since 2021 CBP has encountered 1000s of aliens from terrorist-promoting or -protecting countries. Or who pose a national security threat to the US.
That doesn’t include “gotaways”—suspected terrorists who crossed the border undetected. How many more 1000s among the 7.6 million crossing during Biden’s tenure are “gotaways?” And how many gotaways or watchlist terrorists are going to commit terrorism acts here. Surely, the open border poses the biggest national security threat that the US faces today.
More than half of the suspected terrorists come across the US-Canada border—the world’s longest. Right now, all the attention focused on the Southwest border leaves that northern border unprotected. Terrorists, cartels and criminals are crossing that border too.
Last week, former President Trump said the US is “more vulnerable from inside terror attacks than at any time in its history.”
Terror south of the border
Also it endangers the countries that terrorists cross through—Mexico, Belize and all of Latin America. Not only do Mexican cartels often collaborate with terrorists. A network of families & businesses in South America & Lebanon stand accused of financing Hezbollah. In September the US Treasury imposed sanctions on seven individuals and businesses in that network. One of them carried out 1992 attack on the Israeli embassy in Argentina, killing 29. And another 1994 attack killing 85 and wounding hundreds.
Whoever thinks countries south of the US border are safe from terrorists had better start thinking again. We can see huge rallies supporting Hamas—and by implication, Hezbollah worldwide. Some of those rallies are breaking out into violence against Jews. If we don’t stop them now, the violence will keep spreading.
