PEOPLE’S CONSTITUTIONAL COMMISSION. After a big 62% vote turned down a new woke, wicked & wacky constitution in Chile, Belize is next. Because the Belize House of Representatives has voted to start a new constitutional process. Various interest groups are seeking to reshape Belize as they engage in a kind of nation-building. The People’s Constitution Commission will consider changing the Constitution in part or in full.
The church, which represents about 73 percent of Belizeans, has only one representative. Yet five LGBT groups—each having only a tiny number of members—have five representatives. Eight other civil organizations—including pro-abortion Belize Family Association—have one rep each. Also, different government agencies have 17 reps—half of the total of 34 reps. And the United Nations has three reps.
This raises some troubling questions. Firstly, why does the church have only one, while tiny, mostly foreign-funded LGBT groups have five? Secondly, why should the UN have any say at all in shaping the Constitution of our country? Especially when we consider how they too, are pressuring all nations to bow to woke agendas. Shouldn’t Belize invite them as observers, but not as participants? Thirdly, why should the government have fully 50 percent of the representatives? Doesn’t that sound like an inside job?
We might look at it as a marathon race. Because the whole process will take 18 months. But we might also see it as tugs of war. Because for every vote, we can expect that the government reps will line up on one side. And that the reps of pressure groups, etc., will decide whether or not to line up on the other side. Because half the reps are government reps, each contest may quickly become lopsided. In any case, thank God Belizeans will have a chance to vote it down as the Chileans had.
