God’s Kingdom Guarantees vs Socialist Guarantees

JESUS’ BLOOD IS OUR ONLY CURE-ALL

GODS KINGDOM GUARANTEES VS SOCIALIST GUARANTEES, PT.2. Other wishful thinking among presidential candidates includes “Medicare for All.” Elizabeth Warren estimates that her version of this program will cost $52 trillion. As preposterous as that is, Christ paid a much greater price for our health at the cross. For “by His wounds you are healed” (1 Pet. 2:24).

By faith we can access that healing now. But when Christ comes, He will bring the recompense of full health to those who are waiting for Him.

“Encourage the exhausted, and strengthen the feeble.

Say to those with anxious heart,

‘Take courage, fear not.

Behold, your God will come with vengeance;

The recompense of God will come,

But He will save you.’

Then the eyes of the blind will be opened

And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.

Then the lame will leap like a deer,

And the tongue of the mute will shout for joy” (Isa. 35:3-6).

Healing the land

The land will receive healing too, after being scorched and ravaged by plagues and the Antichrist’s wars. For God will make the earth green again far better than any Green New Deal could do.

“For waters will break forth in the wilderness

And streams in the Arabah.

The scorched land will become a pool

And the thirsty ground springs of water;

In the haunt of jackals, its resting place,

Grass becomes reeds and rushes” (Isa. 35:6-7).

The land will become fertile and fruitful for all who work on it. In the Millennium, full employment will provide full enjoyment. “Indeed, your threshing will last for you until grape gathering, and grape gathering will last until sowing time. You will thus eat your food to the full and live securely in your land” (Lev. 26:5-6).

Moreover, the rich will not exploit the poor. For poverty will end amidst the land’s abundance. And all will be blessed by the Lord.

“They will build houses and inhabit them… They will not build and another inhabit, they will not plant and another eat… not labor in vain, or bear children for calamity; for they are the offspring of those blessed by the Lord, and their descendants with them” (Isa 65:21-23).

The Lord as their wall of fire

Nor will they need to defend their lands against oppressors or invaders. In fact, they will have open gates and open borders.

Accordingly, people will live in a “land of unwalled villages… who are at rest, that live securely, all of them living without walls and having no bars or gates” (Ezekiel 38:11). Even the city of “Jerusalem will be inhabited without walls” (Zech. 2:4).

But the next verse explains why. “’For I,’ declares the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’” And no one will dare come against a city full of God’s power and glory. Except when Satan emerges one last time to make a brief, vengeful and futile attack (Rev. 20:7-10).

Until Christ comes to rule the earth, He says, “Nation will rise against nation…” That implies one nation rising against a border which the other nation must defend. But Jesus says that the end will not come until:

“[t]his gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matt. 24:14).

The gospel of the kingdom vs the gospel of socialism

But the gospel of a socialism is a false gospel. Namely, guaranteed higher education, guaranteed employment, guaranteed income, guaranteed Medicare for all, and guaranteed border-crossing rights, are all false guarantees.

2020 candidates who promote such things are building their platforms on sinking sand. Accordingly, they will fall, because we live in a fallen world. And wishful thinking will not raise it up again.

Only God can guarantee anything in a fallen world. Specifically, He guarantees forgiveness to the repentant. Comfort to those who mourn. Righteousness to those who hunger and thirst for it. Mercy to the merciful. Also, inheritance of the earth to the meek. And the kingdom of God to the poor in spirit and the persecuted.

Jesus said, “In the world You have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). For the Word of God guarantees that those who believe in Jesus will overcome the world with Him (1 John 5:4-5).
