FBI Plans Mexican Caribbean Coast Intervention

FBI plans Mexican Caribbean coast interventionFBI PLANS MEXICAN CARIBBEAN COAST INTERVENTION. Agents of the FBI and DEA will travel in about one week to the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. The state governor, Carlos Joaquin Gonzalez, said they “will come to work with us to…avoid situations (of insecurity}.” Also, Canadian Mounted Police agents will join them.

The governor is putting the case mildly. Because in late 2021 several drug gang-related shootings in tourist zones killed two tourists and three others. Then in January 2022, two more shootings killed two more tourists and a beach club manager. Both occurred in Playa del Carmen (photo) in the middle of Maya Riviera, which attracts 12 million tourists yearly. And half of those tourists come from the US. ‘

Mexican president and state governor at odds?

But President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) has contested these foreign agents’ plans. In December 2020 he acted to change the national security law to end such interventions. Until then, US security and intelligence agencies had been operating throughout Mexico. They had arrested and extradited dozens of drug criminals like El Chapo.

But AMLO holds that they went too far when they arrested the former head of the Armed Forces. They neglected to inform Mexican authorities about probe into that general, Salvador Cienfuegos. So the new law imposes strict controls over foreign agents.

Still, the Quintana Roo governor must take into account that 80% of those in his state feel unsafe. Pray not only for the right kind of foreign help, but for angelic enforcement too.
