TOP EVANGELICAL LEADERS. Some of the top evangelical leaders have signed onto a statement firmly defending Jews and Israel. They include Ralph Reed, James Dobson, James Robison, Jentezen Franklin, John Hagee & Jordan Sekulow. They call the Oct. 7 Hamas killings “the most significant massacre of the Jewish people since the Holocaust.” Moreover, “Jews remain the target of more than half of religion-motivated hate crimes in the United States.
So they call on Congress to take these steps without delay:
- “Make it a top priority to advance legislation to help fund Israel’s defenses as soon as possible.”
- “Pass the Countering Hate Against Israel (CHAI) by Federal Contractors Act.” This would ensure that US. taxpayer dollars won’t be used to boycott Israel out of existence.
- “Pass the Antisemitism Awareness Act.” This would revoke the tax-exempt status of colleges refusing to fight antisemitism on campus.
- Pass the Maximum Pressure Act requiring any new deal with Iran to be ratified by the Senate. Also, it would “restrict the President’s ability to lift sanctions on Iran.”
- Pass the No Funds for Iranian Terrorism Act to permanently freeze the $6 billion of Iranian funds released as part of the Biden administration’s 2023 hostage deal.”
- Require DOJ, DHS and other agencies to “prevent, prosecute & punish antisemitic hate crimes.”
- Take these measures to increase Israel’s security and Mideast stability:
- “support Israel’s efforts to degrade and destroy the Islamic terrorist organizations;”
- “help Israel defend its civilian population with more Iron Dome protection;”
- “press for economic and diplomatic normalization between Israel and regional Arab nations;” “maintain robust sanctions on the Iranian regime, which funds Hamas;”
- Also, “force Qatar to choose between remaining a major non-NATO ally of the United States or continuing its support for Hamas leadership and terrorism.”
God will bless nations that bless Israel. So we should pray that all nations will take steps like these.
