Mexico Pre-Election Violence Killed 91 Politicians

MEXICO PRE-ELECTION VIOLENCE KILLED. Since the election campaign in Mexico began in Sept. 2020, 91 politicians have been murdered. That includes 36 candidates and aspiring candidates from different parties.

That makes the June 6^th election cycle the second most violent in Mexico’s history since 2000. Most of the killings occurred in the cartel-plagued states of Colima, Guerrero, Veracruz and Chiapas.

According to AP, “Experts say drug gangs want to place sympathetic candidates in town halls and city governments.” Then they can “extort money from local businesses and government budgets.” Sympathetic town halls and governments won’t allow the police to interfere.

In Guanajuato state we see what happens when police do interfere with cartels. An elite force there called the Tactical Group has been arresting Jalisco cartel members. Jalisco has vowed to eradicate the Tactical Group.

Jalisco says, “For each member…that you arrest we are going to kill two of yours.” They have already kidnapped several Tactical Group cops and tortured them. From them they have extracted the names and addresses of other cops.

Now they are hunting those cops down and killing them in front of their families. So far, they have executed at least seven this year. Other cops have fled and are now hiding. Since 2018, 262+ police have been killed in Guanajuato alone.

But the Mexican government maintains a “hugs, not guns” laissez-faire policy toward the cartels. Apparently, 91 anti-cartel politicians have recently died as a result. The June 6 election gave President Lopez Obrador’s party a firmer hold on Congress.

An increasingly socialist, terrorist Babylon economy

That allows Lopez Obrador to consolidate power further. He has often attacked the independent National Election institute that monitors Mexico’s elections. Also, in April his party unilaterally extended the term of a close ally on the Supreme Court.

Now Lopez Obrador, with his majority in Congress, can continue to empower state-owned industries and implement social welfare programs. The US has an increasingly socialist neighbor which is letting drug cartels have their way. Even at the border, where they conduct big drug-smuggling and human trafficking operations.

Revelation 18:23-24 speaks of the Babylon economy: “your merchants [read “drug dealers”] were the great men of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery [Greek “pharmakeia”, which can also mean narcotics]. And in her was found the blood of the prophets and the saints and all who have been slain on the earth.” Drug lords are turning Mexico into a harbinger of the end-times Babylon. But God wants to turn Mexico to Him…
