Fake Woke World—Will Google’s Investors Abandon It?

FAKE WOKE WORLD. Reports keep coming out that Google has rigged its “Gemini” AI Chatbot with political bias. For example. It gave the website Breitbart a bias=right and a reliability=low score. At the same time, it gave The Atlantic a bias=left-center and reliability=high score. Likely that means that Google will give leftwingers high ranking and rightwingers low ranking. Effectively, right-leaning sources would plummet to the bottom of search results.

That would mean bloggers like me would have to dig deep to find alternatives to woke-censored news. The news most accessible to you will have passed through “toxicity” filters. The woke definition of toxic may differ radically from yours. And Google presently hides just what factors define toxicity.

So bloggers won’t know how Google will judge their content. They will tend to err on the woke side to avoid Artificial Intelligence censorship. Because Gemini can actually alter your content to conform to its version of historical facts. And it can do the same with historical images. Thus a big scandal broke out when Gemini changed white historical figures into Blacks and Asians.

Deserting the fake woke world

That went too far for Google’s investors. According to Fox Business, “since Google hit pause on Gemini’s image generation on Thursday, Alphabet shares have fallen 5.4%, while its market cap has fallen from $1.798 trillion to $1.702 trillion, a loss of $96.9 billion.” Former Google executive David Friedberg says many investors are “deeply frustrated and angry” that AI could hurt Google’s monopoly.

Now Google’s CEO says they’re working “around the clock” to fix the biases. But how much wokeness will remain? If too much, they may create a fake world that most people can’t relate to. Then Google’s virtual empire would collapse, because instead of clicking in people will opt out.
